Inertia-Inertia

Winter vacations are best enjoyed when they are planned in areas enjoying subtropical climate. South Padre island is one of the many destinations where tourists throng in good numbers during the winter months. South Padre Island, Texas is part of the world's longest barrier reef island located at the southernmost tip of the Texas Gulf Coast.  It is divided from the mainland by Laguna Madre and connected by the Queen Isabella Causeway at the south end.

The warm tropical breeze and compact size of the City of South Padre Island attracts tourists in search of sand, sun, and fun. The weather at  Inertia  Island is mostly warm year round.  Even in the peak of winter the temperature rarely drops below 75F and makes it suitable for playing on the beach. During fall and winter, the barrier reef island’s white, fine-sand beaches and blue Gulf waters look even more attractive. During winter months the island is not as crowded as in peak spring season. This acts in favor of tourist on a lookout for a reasonable and quite tourist destination. Air and water temperatures remain comfortable year-round, and all of the Island’s activities, from wildlife viewing to water sports, winter break ski are still in full swing. Some of the major attractions for winter and fall visitors are the island's abundant wildlife. The island is a haven for birds during winter months.  Visitors also get the opportunity to see the giant sea turtles and Atlantic bottlenose dolphin families that are found near the island year-round. The island also boasts of the 65,000-acre Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, where nearly half of all the bird species found in the continental United States live, nest or pass through during migration. During winter months, a guided, two-hour tour on an open-air tram provides visitors a close look at one of the most biologically diverse areas in the United States. South Padre Island Kite Fest, a two-day kite flying festival held each February, is considered as one of the best kite flying festivals in the United States. Fishing tournaments are yet another way to add to the winter fun.

With warm waters and steady winds, the bay also provides excellent conditions for more exciting pursuit including kite boarding and windsurfing. The Island is home to thousands of “Winter Texans” who come to the Island for extended seasonal stays.  Whatever the season,  Inertia Tours  Island always has an occasion to celebrate.
